A common myth about summers is to not use any moisturiser or lotion for the body as the skin doesn't become dry, and hence doesn't require it.
This is completely false.
The skin does need moisturising irrespective of the weather. Plus in summers, the skin needs extra protection.
Moisturising helps feed and repair the skin while protecting the skin from direct sunlight.
It keeps the skin healthy and soft.
Many people would say that their skin becomes oily and sticky when they use a lotion or a moisturiser or some body cream.
This happens because most likely they are using the wrong sort of a body cream/moisturiser.
The skin requires treatment according to the atmosphere it is exposed to.
For winters, a heavy moisturising body cream is required to overcome excessive dryness, and if one continues to use the same sort for the summers, it will naturally not work well.
For the summers, a light nourishing cream is required, which gets absorbed easily and leaves the skin non-sticky and moisturised.
I have been using a lemon based body cream from The Body Shop (which was a gift, basically) and I find it amazing. Works really well for my skin and is not sticky at all.
So when I had to buy another one, I went on and bought a similar sort only with a different base and scent (I like trying on different varieties).
Its Satsuma body puree this time, and it leaves the skin fresh with a soft scent.
So don't leave the skin unnourished and go ahead with selecting the right cream/moisturiser.
Have a wonderful Summer!
